FAN RUNNING AFTER SHUT DOWN - HOT DAY - SOUND IS UNDER TIMING BELT V70-XC70

Have a V70 2002 T-5. After shut down ON A HOT DAY there is something running - sound coming from under the timing belt - I know its not the engine fan - it;s stopped - can feel it on shift consol in the car - slight vibration
Is it perhaps a cooling system for the transmission, or water circulating?
