C30 2010 Oil spill - timing belt area 2010

Hi,

Just got a C30 T5 2010 with 190 000km last Saturday (May 23rd). Previous owner did some repair before concluding the transaction:

- Timing belt done (1 week ago, may 16th)
- Crankcase ventillation/filter housing module replaced (was leaking and wanted to make sure they were nothing clogged there) done on Friday May 22nd)
- Oil changed 2 weeks ago

Sunday, May 24th, after a drive the C30, I realize that oil was dripping on the pavement. The splash guard was full of oil (on the right side, timing belt side) Checked the oil level and realize it was above the maximum line, strange but yes, above it a good half inch.

Decided to remove the splash guard and saw oil all over the place: a good 18 inches radius around the bottom of the timing belt cover and higher a bit. Right arm table, axle boot, half of the oil pan (right side) etc... On top, removed the timing cover and saw some oil on the left cam gear (the one closest to the windshield). Not much oil on behind the camshaft gear.

Could it be the crank seal that suddenly fail ? Or the extra oil that went out from a seal or from the crankcase vent system to leak back on that side?

What do you think?

Thank you for your help.
