Flush brake fluid but never clutch fluid , greasing fork at slave 850 1995

Never done on any car , so a bit scared. Fluid by the slave cylinder must be nasty. Any tips? On the to do list is to lube the ball and fork for the clutch slave as it makes a creaky noise. I don't think i have to release any fluid to do that. I made some attempt to remove the slave and circlip 19 months ago but failed. I got the impression that there was some tension on the parts although for a cable system there would be some free-play - so maybe I was just scared. So to properly lube it is probably best to pull the slave back off the fork to get a dab of grease where it counts the most.

So this is a possible weekend attempt.
