The car is a 2003 XC70: When I lifted the hood to check the oil I found an air /vacuum valve had popped apart.
The valve is mounted to the front of the engine air filter box.
It has a hose from the engine intake manifold running to it and a similar hose coming off the other side (can't tell where it's going). A third hose comes off the bottom of the valve and goes downward. There is an electrical connector off the top. The valve top has popped off revealing a diaphragm and spring that actuates a micro switch in the vale cap where the electrical connector attaches.
What is the valve called ?? What is it's function ??
Not sure if the valve effects the power braking system....
Thanks for any help you can provide
