I have priced for replacing catalytic converter from 2 places. One from my mechanic for about $1500. and one from a collision shop for about $700. The collision shop will replace converter & gas pipe, A/M converter & pipe, and muffler & pipe gasket. They use after market parts. The mechanic just gave me a verbal estimate. There is a big difference. Can someone comment on this please.
