Sticky hood latch S70

I have a 1999 S70 GLT with 173k miles on the clock. Recently i have begun to notice that the hood release doesnt work well. I have to pull on it a few times and pull the hood up afterwards. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the hood latch to work better?
