My wife`s XC70 sat in a local small town shop for a week & finally, the mechanic told us he had no way of reading the codes. OK, so we drove a few blocks to another local shop where they could read the codes & confirmed as I thought & Klaus suggested; it was the CEM & not the DIM.
We sent the CEM off to Xemodex & the shop re-installed it. All was OK except the right signal lights wouldn`t work. Apparently, they got them working after unplugging a connection for a few minutes. However, now the "airbag service" light is on so will have to take the car to the dealer after all.
The car has been out of action for 3 weeks today & this has been a frustrating experience. I was trying to save some $ but feel like I should have taken the car to the dealership in the first place.
Question: is the 'airbag service required" light related to something Xemodex did or my local mechanic or just a fluke?
Thanks,
Rich
