Hello All,
I just purchased a 2002 S60 T5 with a 5 speed manual from the original owner with a 130,000 miles. Some questions:
1) According to the owner’s manual and the service book, you should replace the spark plugs every 60,000 miles. That seems excessive. I know it is a different model, but my ’96 850 says replace them every 30,000. What’s the consensus: replace every 30K or 60 K? Please share your opinion.
2) Again, according to the owner’s manual and the service book, you don’t have to ever flush the coolant. Just check it to make sure the radiator is topped off. That seems insane. Eventually coolant looses its ability to fight corrosion over time. I typically replace the coolant each autumn. What are people’s thoughts on this?
3) I would like to purchase a Volvo accessory: a Bag Holder, Part # 9499144. Volvo no longer sells this accessory. I looked on Ebay and Amazon without success. I called Erie Vo-Vo and no luck either. Can anyone recommend where I might find one?
4) I would like to install a wind deflector. I have been told that Volvo did not sell a wind deflector as an accessory for this car. I called iPd, and was told they used to sell one, but no longer did. Can anyone recommend where I could purchase a wind deflector for this car?
5) This is a question to collective wisdom of this website. What is the reputation for the reliability of the S60 T5? Of course, it is a little late now, because I’ve “bought the farm” but I would like to know what the reputation is for this model. Is it another 240 or 940?
Thanks to all who respond!
Hugh
