This morning I found a bit of fluid on my garage floor....after I checked it out I found it was batt. acid. I had to go to the dealer this morning to have my turn signal bulbs/sockets updated, so I told the SM about the batt fluid. The tech. removed the batt., and I gave him a box of Arm & Hammer to spill all over the affected areas and then he washed it down with water. We did this a few times and I think 99% of the acid is nutralized. then he checked the batt fluid level, and said it was a bit too hig, so he sucked some out until the correct level was reached.....all OK.
My question is about the two small(about 6-8MM) white "plug like"
looking things on the left and right sides of the battery. They are at the top part of the batt, about even with the fill caps. Are these to be left in, or should they come out when the car is preped????
I put some more soda on the area when I got home, and noticed that there is only one "plug like thing" on the left side(looking from the front)in the batt., and it is open on the other side.
It was too late to call the SM at the dealer when I got home, so I thought one of the techs on the board would know, or could go take a look at a new battery, and see if both/one, or none should be left in.
thanks in advance,
Steve F.
