Drove to work like normal in the morning. parked the car, same outside spot as usual, and went to work. Winter, -12C. 240,000km
Came back at night -15C no start.
Lots of crank. battery seemed good. headlights worked etc.
Tried for a long time but absolutely nothing, no sputter, no coughs, no attempts to start. zero. Almost bad timing belt like, or no spark. Fuel pump comes on for a few seconds, then cycles off, when in posII.
Had to fly out for business so i had it towed to my house.
10 days later. -20c- -35C temps. cold!!
First thing i pulled a plug to check compression. put the c/t on cylinder 1. cranked it over and to my surprise it started! turned it off. Pulled the tester, put the plug back and she fired up!!.
Started poking around and noticed the black plastic intake air hose from my airbox to the intake was loose. played around with it, and pulled it off. The car dropped rpm right away, sputtered and died. never to start again.
compression is 170 straight across all 5. Spark on all plugs when shorting to block.
Tried spraying with some quick start. still nothing. Not even a cough
Scratching my head a bit here.
Thanks
