We've had our '00 S80 T6 for a year, and until today, the remote

button (center one) on the visor, has operated just fine. Today, however, as we were leaving the house, the garage door would not respond to the command to close, even though we were still in the driveway. I had to go back into the house and get our original bulky remote to open and close the garage door.

Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem might be, or, what may have caused it? I guess I could try and reprogram it with the original remote again, but what if that doesn't work?

I don't relish the idea of having to take the car to the dealer, as this vehicle has made numerous trips to the dealer for major issues in the 13 months (13,000 miles) totalling 54 days out of service. But that's another long story.
