Exhaust, intake and wastegate oh my! 850

I just got my baby back today. I had a 3" downpipe, 3" race cat, 2.5" cat-back, with a rear mount muffler custom made for my car today. I also had an open element K&N air filter put in as well. And since I had it in the mod shop, I also twisted the actuator arm on the wastegate up a little. And BTW, I removed the ECU from the car to make sure the the ECU wouldn't act up with the new breathin enhancements and the wastegate adjustment.

And if interested, I did 3.5 turns on the actuator arm.

When I pulled onto the road and floored it, WOW! The tires screeched and the car just ripped from idle to red line in economy mode. I imagine about a 15-20hp and 20-25 ft.lbs increase in power. But the real important part is the fact that the car pulls from idle, not from 2200rpm. There is literally almost no lag. There are TONNES of torque now. Especially at low rpms. But there is a noticeable increase in power throughout the power range. I just can't wait for the PES-Tuning/GIAC chip I will be putting in this up coming week hopefully.

Yes, there is some increase in noise, but mostly around 3000rpm at full throttle. At idle, from the driver seat, it's not much louder, but deeper. It is noticeably louder from the exterior, but from the driver seat, not much more. To put things in perspective, my uncle's 90' Mazda Protege is louder at idle, both inside and out.

And for those of you that insist on using a drop in because of heat in the engine compartment, sorry, no bogging from sitting at a red light. The car pulls great from the red light.

Oh, and no idiot lights either!

About the only thing negative is a funky smell coming from the exhaust because of the brand new T-304 piping.
