Looking at a new (to us) car, any suggestions? V70-XC70 1998

So we may be looking at a 98 V70 manual next week. Any thought on what we should look for beyond checking codes, compression, going for a ride and looking for blue smoke? The car will need new control arms and it's due for a timing belt. The seats are a bit ratty, and the windshield is cracked, and it needs a new ABS module (no speedometer). Otherwise doesn't sound too bad ;-)

The seller says "It shifts fine now, but last winter when the temperature dropped to the teens, it did get a bit rougher. No grinding or slipping out of gears. The clutch did make some very slight squeaking at the same time, and hasn't done it since, so it must have just been a bit too cold." Is that a cause for concern?

Thanks for any suggestions!
