I need a new right front brake line (the hardline, not the hose). I'd like to get a perfect replacement, rather than an off-the-shelf too long line from a junkyard. While I have the tools and skill, I would rather NOT shape my own from scratch.
My schedule and parental duties keeps me from visiting the junkyard any time soon. I'd like to order from Tasca Volvo, but I can't find the part or number on the diagrams - just the hose. My other go-to sources rarely list finished lines. Any ideas on the oem number or a good source?
Why do I need a new line? some years ago, I discovered that my right front brake hardline had been kinked where it connected to the brake hose. I very carefully unkinked it and it's been fine for quite a while.
Yesterday, near home, the brake warning light came on. I was able to stop safely and topped off the reservoir. The light stayed on. Thinking that there was a bubble, I gave the brake several hard pumps...
That's when the brake fluid steam rose up from the hot disk rotor. Looking at the line, I can see that it finally ruptured where it had been kinked years ago.
