I need to change suspension parts and there is a 99 XC like mine currently wrecking. But, looking at Swedish Car Parts online the 99 suspension has around 20 different two digit suspension codes, for three types of spring, and strut.
My product code on the inside of the engine bay identifies my suspension as 3A. However, there are no 3As to choose on Swedish Car Parts. I wrote an enquiry to there three days ago but no reply. So really would like to ask Brickboarders for help. Even if I buy new I am not sure what to look for when it comes to front suspension especially now that I see there are various codes.
Is there possibly a stamp on the strut itself to check the 3A I get? My product code is 3A6Yww.. something. I read here: http://www.ipdusa.com/techtips/10015/what-is-the-product-identification-plate-where-can-i-find-it-and-what-does-it-tell-me
that the first two digits are the front suspension.
Would I be okay to replace with any suspension of the same year model? If not, is there another way to find compatability of suspension part?
Many thanks
