Inner headlight wiring harness replacement V70-XC70 2000

Finally getting around to replacing the inner headlight harness that has been shorting out on my 00 V70 XC. I bought a replacement harness that has the outer connector, two inner bulb connectors and another tiny bulb connector -- p/n 9438738.

Question is, what is this little bulb for and as my old inner harness did not have this. Will the my existing US model headlight wiring support this extra bulb? My old external connector had 3 pins and the new one has 4.
