I'm in need of help. My '93 850 GLT (122,500 miles) keeps getting the flashing arrow syndrome. I would ignore it but when it is flashing it seems to impact whether or not the torque convertor stays locked up in overdrive plus it is irritating.
The only code that I'm getting out of A1 is 223. I believe that it means a low signal from the throttle position sensor. Is that correct? If I reset it, it seems to stay off for at least 10 minutes before it comes on again and I can't seem to determine if it coincides with some sort of driving situation. I replaced the throttle position sensor, see no problem with the connector for the sensor and pulled and re-seated all three of the ECU modules in the box. It still came back. I'm out of ideas and need help as to where elso to look and what else to try.

As a side note, I recently pulled the transmission to replace the rear main seal (major work and probably worth paying someone else $600 to $800 if you don't enjoy this kind of stuff). While the tranny was out, I replaced the PNP switch plus many other items seeing that it was easier to get at them. But, I also had the error code of 223 prior to removing the tranny. I bought my car on 11-30-00 and have only put 200 miles on it. I've spent all of this time working on the car from top to bottom and front to back, and it is pretty nice except for the flashing arrow and a clunk that might be coming from the front sway bar. I've now got lots of experience with this car if I can help anyone else out. Without the Brickboard, I may have given up on this car months ago. Thanks for all the help!
