I have received the code for the MAF sensor on three separate occasions along with the check engine light. The car would stall upon take off, would die upon take off,(it did this so bad Saturday I had to leave it parked for several hours, come back and clear the codes and the I drove it home) and lose power while driving. That was it! I made the trip to the parts dealer and got a quote on price and delivery. I was BUYING the freaking $220 MAF sensor. I told the parts dealer I would be back TODAY (03/20/2001) to buy the part.
Just to make sure I was not wasting me money I checked the codes last night. No MAF sensor error but (socket A 6) error code 241. The check engine light was on as well. I cleared the code and drove it for about 15 minutes. No check engine light...no error codes.
So question is, could the EGR problem cause the stalling and loss of power. I failed to mention it above but I also had the EGR errors when I had two of the MAF sensor errors. I do no want to go ahead and buy the MAF sensor only to find out it was not bad.
