Our 850 (1994 854 N/A 80k miles) has recently been acting up and I was hoping I could get some help from some of you guys.
-First, the check engine light keeps popping on. I check the codes (A6:154 Leak in EGR system), clear them, then my wife drives around for a couple of days and it comes back on. So far the advice I've gotten is to check for a vacuum leak, but after visual inspection nothing stands out.
-Second, the 'brake light indicator?' light on the dash comes on somewhat randomly when applying the brakes. I've changed both of the bulbs and played with the connections, but with my wife at the wheel and me in the trunk (car is parked of course) I can't duplicate the problem.
-Third, I changed the oil last weekend and noticed fluid was seeping from the manual transaxle at what appears to be a gasket. I had to look it up in the Haynes manual, and the fluid looks red. I don't know if I should tackle this myself (I'm inclined to say no), but I would like to be prepared when I go get my 80k checkup (when the tax man cometh, you have to be prepared for everything).
I would like to try to get the brake light and code things cleared up before I go in for my 80k service. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance,
Mark
