camshaft Error S60 2003

I Changed My head gasket on a 2002 volvo s60 2.4T AWD and when it was all put back together I had a CEL that said camshaft alignment bank 1. I reset the code and it has not come back on. but when i start it and while it is idling its not a steady idle. it goes from 400 rpm to 1000 feeling like the car is gonna choke. Is this my camshaft not being aligned correctly or is this my timing? please help
