XC vs. T5 V70 Wagon? V70-XC70 2001

I'm thinking of getting myself a T5 V70 wagon or CrossCountry wagon.

Think I'm nuts? Is this anything someone can tell me comparing one to the other good or bad?

Are the new ones better or is a '99 or 2000 the same or better?

I have a new Ford Expedition but back problems are forcing me back to a car.
