No hi beams V70-XC70

I have a 2003 XC70. On a recent trip the hi beams would not stay on. The switch is on and lights will flash so it is like the switch is in the wrong position but it isn't. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem,and what they did to repair it. Thank you for any help you can give.
