Hi,
I have just over 88,000 miles on my 93 850...and I love it.
About two months ago I moved into a house with a very steep and short driveway. I've been gunning it pretty good to get the momentum up. Also, I have backed out a number of times which I now understand is a bad idea for the transmission.
Anyway, the sucker is slipping real bad. I don't know the proper terms for the gears but it slips and shakes for the first gear and second gear. It varies a lot. A mechanic put a half a can of tans additive in and we hoped that it may help. The problem is getting worse. It's now to the point where I do rolling stops when ever possible and vary my route depending on stop lights / traffic so I don't come to a complete stop.
Today, it started to kind of just be suspended in no gear after starting out at a light.
What's the diagnosis doctor? Terminal?
Need advice. I've always gone to the local "dealer" but would prefer to go to an independant...of which I've found three on Oahu. Anybody know a good independant on Oahu?
What kind of repair bill am I looking at.
Thanks,
Dave
