I was driving on a rural road a few weeks ago, and when I turned on my high beams, I noticed that only one side seemed to be working. Since I don't often drive outside the city, and I was planning to go into the dealer soon anyway (my thermostat was starting to fail), I thought I'd wait, and have them pop in new bulb. When I went in yesterday, we discovered that the bulb was fine, but the high beam was aimed down to below the level of the low beam. After what seemed like everyone in the shop had a crack at re-aiming the high beam, I was told that it could not be re-aimed. Its position was fixed. The whole thing would have to be replaced. A Volvo rep. will look at it to see if a free replacement is possible. The dealer claims its not a warranty item. Has any one out there had a similar experience? If they don't replace it free of charge is it possible to fix it? A brand new headlight assembly can't be cheap. Thanks for any imput.
