I am trying to seperate fact from fiction on the idea of fuel injector servicing. Seems like a good idea when you consider how much gas gets pumped through them in 120,000 Miles, approximately 1000 Gallons per injector. A few months back I ran a bottle of "STP complete fuel system cleaner" in a tank of gas, but can't say that I saw any dramatic performance improvement.
Is it worth the effort to remove the injectors and send them out as the suppliers claim, or is this just advertising hype. Seems like the vendors all provice similar service. Charge seems fair enough at about $25 per injector.
One big disadvantage is the time required to send the injectors back and forth. Are there good alternate methods which can be done in my garage?
Thanks,
Dan
