In August, I raised window and heard the worst racket inside driver door. I don't know what went haywire, but window now barely moves and I keep it in the up position except the few inches it moves when raising/lowering the top. This is a real bother @ parking lot exits and is no way to live.

I see the regulator assembly can be >$800. If my mechanic knows someone who knows his way around these things, is there any prayer of repair w/o a huge bill? Any wise words to keep him focused on best repair?
