Have an issue I need to diagnose....

This all started a few years back but only during cold weather. The engine would have a hard time starting, but would eventually turn over. After a warm-up it would be fine, until the next cold morning.

As the weather warmed, the issue was gone and I wouldn't have to worry until the following winter. It's not my only car, so an immediate repair was not dire.

Now, the car is suffering when the temps are warm. Eventually, it will start, but the symptom is the same as when it's cold.

The fuel pump has only 80,000 miles on it (not the original), so RELAY 103 seems likely to be the culprit. I've had the car since new and it has never been replaced.

I had a 740 that experienced the same problem and it was the fuel pump relay. This model had two identical relays under the hood, so a quick swap was all you needed to diagnose the problem.

The 740 would start to die at freeway speeds and I don't want to experience this in the 850.

Thanks for any help.

PS: Would relay 103 show signs of failure by smelling burned or discoloration? I'm looking at it right now and see nothing out of the ordinary.
