15,000 Mile Service Cost - S80/T6/2000 ? S80 2000

Sorry to re-post but I forgot to identify make/model/year. S80/T6/2000

I'm due for the 15,000 mile service. At 14,670 miles a Check Engine light came on and a mesage in the panel reads "Emision Control System Service Required".

Is this 'normal'- advance notice that 15K service is required? What is the average cost of the 15K service? Anything in particular that I should check aside from the fact that my $1,000 radio absolutely sucks. Thanks.
