I have had my Volvo wagon for over five years now and I'll bet that less than 20 times have I had to press the remote keyless entry system less than five times to get the doors to open. I feel like a dope standing there pressing, pressing, pressing until they finally open. Closing is a much better average than opening. Yes, I use the key when I know I'm going to have a bad run. There are always new batteries in the remote (I test them on a multi-meter too).
Has anyone else had this experience? Is my case isolated and others can say that they find the system works fine? Does anyone have any ideas about what is wrong? My dealer says he can never find the system failing, so he doesn't go searching. Sometimes I find that the doors open alright, but the tailgate doesn't open at all. Related? I heard that the system works on a vaccuum tube system. Is that right? I'm in Canada so we could easily say it's the cold Winters, but it is the same in Summer too.
Thank you in advance.
