rear main seal 850 94

Found the rear main seal on my '94 855 turbo leaking this morning, what a wonderful surprise. Is there any possibility that the seal is fine and a pressure build up inside the engine is the cause(like a clogged flame trap in the 240's). I really don't want to spend $900 on a repair.
