I have a '95 and a '97 850. Both hit by hail in the big storm across the south US last week. On both cars the rubber strip at the top of the windshield came off in the middle. It appears the strip snaps into a plastic groove above the windshield and the hail broke the groove.
I figure I can glue it down using anything thick and waterproof. The strip does not appear to serve a purpose other than cosmetic or perhaps cut down wind noise. I have a tube of GOOP Marine contact adhesive sitting around that seems like it'll do the trick.
Ok to just glue them down? This is not sealing anything is it?
Thanks,
