3 Questions Re 2001 XC V70-XC70 2001

I have owned my XC for about 4 months now and really enjoy the car. Recently though, it has developed a vibration in the steering wheel that is felt throughout the whole car at speeds between 40 and 60 mph. I'm hoping it is only an out of balance tire. Anyone else experience this? It is scheduled to go for service in a few days to address this problem and while there, there are 2 other things to be looked at. The first is the rearview mirror. It is the auto dimming type and works fairly well. Is there an adjustment to make it adjust darker? It responds to following headlights but I would like it to more "dimming". I think I read a post here that it can be adjusted but when I asked the service department they said it can't. The second item I have a question about is the remote control and the preset setting for the seat and sideview mirror. When I open the doors with my remote, the seat goes to my settings and the sideview mirror does about half the time. The other half it remains at the position that my wife has set it to. She has one remote and I the other so if she has been driving the car the settings are hers. Why would the seat respond to my remote all of the time but not the mirror? Hopefully someone here can give me some info on these minor problems so when I go for service I have something to help them "fix" things. Thanks all and have Safe and Happy Holidays. Tom.
