Everyone,
I bought a 2001 (so P2) V70 T5 manual and I feel like its getting relatively low mileage. During my commute (which is maybe 70/30 city/hwy) I am averaging 22-23 MPG on premium (10% ethanol unfortunately). If I do a long run on the highway I can get 25-26 MPG. I was expecting more of 30 MPG hwy and a 24-25 MPG commute average. Are these normal number and I was just in dreamland? Or are other P2 V70 drivers getting better numbers? I have checked all the normal things (tire pressure, etc.) and so nothing is obviously wrong with the car. Any suggestions on things to look into to help my mileage?
Part of the reason my expectations are higher is that my friend has a 1999 P1 V70 T5 manual and he acheives higher mileage...at least 30 hwy for sure. There are a lot of difference between the P1 and P2 models but the engine is the same so I was hoping for the same mileage.
Thanks in advance!
Brian
