Since a lot of people here work on their own cars, I am hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. I am trying to determine the proper lift points for the front of my XC when using a floor jack. The rear, reinforced ones are pretty obvious, but I can't tell where to jack the front end. I don't think the cup on my jack is deep enough to put over the front lift point that is designated for the 'toy' jack that came with the car. Is there a better spot, or do I need to just fabricate a block of wood to put over the front lift point to protect it? I am changing over to snow tires, so I don't need to worry about jack stands at the moment, but I'm curious about where they'd go too.
