difference in amp between SC-810 and SC-815 850

I had to ditch my SC-815 in favor of the 810 because the former was not responding after repeated attempts to revive. After installing the 810, it seems to have boosted the bass considerably and, overall, sounds a bit better. What are the specs between the two models?

And, what is that amp connection on the back for, anyway?
