shift lever locked out 850 1996

Help, When I start the car I cannot get the shift lever out of park unless I push the manual release override button. Then my headlights and turn signal lights don't work and the "tracks off" light stays on. This seems to happen every day, especially in temps above 85 (don't know if that is related) This makes my car useless for night driving and trips. Any help appreciated. Thanks
