Replacing the evaporator, accumulator, expansion valve.
Will be flushing-out all the tubing, hoses and evaporator.
According to the Web-ubiquitous 1995 850 manual, the system has an oil capacity of 6.8 ounces.
That same manual states that when you replace the accumulator, you should charge it with 3 ounces of the compressor oil. The manual does not suggest pre-charging any of the other system parts with compressor oil.
So, the question is, how should I get the remaining 3.8 ounces of compressor oil into the system.
The VERY detailed 23-page evaporator replacement procedure by furtherside@yahoo.com mentions adding 1 2/3 ounces to the evaporator.
What should I do with whatever oil remains?
I assume that the oil will do more good upstream of the compressor than on the downstream side. But, at the same time, I don't want to put too much upstream such that the compressor takes a large gulp of oil and hydraulicly locks.
Any thoughts?
