Service Bulletin 86

I usually take my car to an independent mechanic. Woodbridge Volvo Motorcars in Woodbridge VA. 7034949215 Ask for Sheldon or Robert. I had it in there for the ABS and TRACS lights being on. The check engine light was on as well. From diagnosing the problem it was determined that the right rear wheel sensor was causing all 3 lights to pop on. THe check engine light was of course not intermittent. But the TRACS and ABS lights were intermittent. After volvo required that my VIN # be submitted in order purchase the sensor, I became suspect of Volvo's tracking of VIN's with these problems. After waiting a few days for the part to arrive, it was installed to no avail. The lighs were still on and the check engine light was triggered by the right rear wheel sensor again. At this point we checked the wiring from the sensors to above the gas tank. There is a distrubution switch (EBD) there and figured that it could be that. Nope. Anyway after an exhaustive search of the wiring no problems were found. A couple days later, I received in the mail a recall for the ABS ECU, the wiring harness, and the EBD (brake distribution switch). Service Bulletin 86 For this I had to take it in to the dealership. The dealership stated that they had replaced many ABS ECU and never had there been any recall. They disbeleived me at first. Then when I walked in and handed them the Service Bulletin they started to beleive me. It is now in the shop having the work done. I am very suspect of VOLVO. I thought it was funny that just to get a wheel sensor I had to submit my VIN #. What BS. Then I happened to receive a recall in the mail. HMMM. Everyone may want to find out if they apply to the recall. I am also unhappy with FJORD's policies. I am also unhappy with RYDELL driving a Ford Mondeo after Volvo was kicked out. Talk about some BS Ford Politics. "Lets take out the Volvo and put Rydell in a Ford to make Ford seem better"
