Need advice on 1998 V70XC AWD V70-XC70 1998

Looking to get a newer car and the one I have in mind is a 1998 V70 XC AWD. 125,000 miles. Appears to be in graet shape with the following repairs that need to be done. An air pump which moves air in the exhust system somehow. Dealer wants about $850.00 for the repair and I'm told I can live with it but you'll never know when the check engine light is warning you of another problem.
Also needs a new windshield and the tires are studded snow tires so I'll need new tires also. Asking $4000.00 and will entertain offers.
Is there anything about the model and year I should be aware of? Is this model and year known for any issues?
Any help or advise would be welcome.
