Center AC damper motor removal help V70-XC70 1998

I have a 98 V70 AWD and have been hearing noise coming from behind the AC control unit in the passenger compartment. Suspect that it is a stuck damper motor or broken control arm. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the motor unit? Do you have to remove the dash or can you access it for removal from behind the glove box?
