Re: Any good reasons to avoid 94 850 GLT-S 850 94

Similar to Wayne, I own a '94 850 5spd (I bought new Jan '94) and the car has been phenomenal (although I drive it much harder than I should for a non-turbo):

>155k miles (drive it nearly every day, San Francisco to Lake Tahoe many weekends in the winter)

>on third set of front pads, 2nd set rear brake pads, original rotors

>Replaced clutch, rear main seal and 2nd timing belt (70k recomendation) @ 145k (rear main seal was leaking oil, so decided to do clutch...which was original).

>on 2nd set of shocks (replaced with Bilstiens)

>on 2nd battery (first one lasted 5 1/2 years and probably would have lasted longer, but I let the car sit for 3 weeks)

>on 3rd set of tires (Mich MXV4 Energy, V rated...not exactly perf, but decent touring tire)

Did all factory maint either at Volvo or Volvo trained - have only had small problem with sunroof track, 1 tail bulb blow, horn contacts needed to be cleaned recently. That's it.

Truthfully, I want a new car (been driving this one nearly 7 full years), but can't imagine anything else will ever be this hassle free.
