Ok Guys here is the official answer on my timing belt problem I have been having.
Short story then answer. Took S60 to a non volvo shop for timing belt job. Got car back with timing out of whack and code p0012.
Shop kept saying marks were correct and that my cvvt solenoid must be bad.
So a friend and I set out to redo the job and here is what we discovered. Appears shop some how got the cam out of line. Friend built cam locking tool to spec. Got the cams in the right position locked and adjusted the cvvt.
We then cleaned the cvvt solenoid and replaced gasket. Oh buy the way the old gasket did not have a filter. Appears Volvo has added filter to the gaskets. Also note solenoid did have some sludge in the corners of the solenoid but cleaned with a cut tip and b-12.
Now that cvvt was set and timing belt back on the car runs fine.
Long story short you can change the timing belt with out a cam locking tool if you know what you are doing , but if you start monkeying around down there and the cam turns you are screwed and will need tool.
Things we did why we were down there. Replaced idler pulley and water pump.
Another lesson. Next timing belt I will do my self or the volvo dealership only will touch.
Money lost on timing belt job done wrong $600.00
