Service light and Check engine light both on at almost same time. 850 1995

Hi guys. This 850 makes me feel too much like the dimwit I must be. I am more of a 240 guy and feel extra dumb. My wife and I were driving along and the service light came on. Then, the next evening the Check Engine light came on. One, I do my own service if I can. Two, how do I make these lights go out. Three, where do I find the issues that go with the codes that I am sure to bring up on the OBDII? Any answers or direction to other sites would be helpful. Thanks. jg
