Hi Again All

On my way from Charleston SC to my home in NC yesterday I turned the air on and it did not cool. I could hear the compressor cycling. and no cool air from vents. So Today I put 2 12 oz cans of r134 in the system. The compressor never did come on and stay on, but I had much colder air coming out of the air vents.

This was with recirculateon, 2 temp dials at max cold, blower full on. did not have a thermometer to measure the duct temps but based on the ambient temp it may well have been 60 Deg F.

Is it posible that as cold as it was outside the controler thought it was all the compressure needed to run?

I was afraid that I would overfill the system. one can may not have been totaly full, but the other was new. to be on the safe side I stopped at 2. the system capacity is supposed 2 LBs (32 Oz)

The guage on the filler hose showed about 25 psi while the compressor was running and in the high 30's when it was not running

Any thoughts
