The cruise control quit working a month ago so I took it to the local Volvo dealer (who shall remain namless, but is in Charlotte, NC on Independence Blvd). After keeping the car overnight they determined the vacuum hose from the cruise control pump to the servo was bad. The price for this repair: $165! Last time I replaced a vacuum hose (1974 Toyota Land Cruiser) I bought it for pennies per foot. Are Volvo's vacuum hoses coated in gold leaf or some similar precious metal?
Is this a repair I can do myself and if so where is the hose?
Thanks!
