V70R alarm siren location? V70-XC70

My 1998 V70R has intermittent window and sun roof operation. Other threads suggested a leaking battery in the alarm siren. I looked for the siren under the right front fender liner (without removing all the plastic fasteners) and I even loosened and dropped the windshield washer reservoir - but to no avail. Could the siren be located elsewhere or is it just well hidden under the liner?
