OK. So I had my fuel filter changed by my indie a couple of weeks ago. The day after, I got a CEL and p0171- system too lean. I took it back and asked him to check for misplaced lines around the filter, he said he saw nothing.

SO yesterday, I jacked the car up and I saw what he calls a fuel filter replacement. He CUT my fuel lines on both sides of the filter, and used rubber piping held on with clamps to hold the lines to the filter....Im thinking of asking him to replace my fuel lines. Is it just me, or does that seem a bit obsurd...

secondly, Ive checked for vacuum leaks in the usual spots, no luck. Im thinking that it is this rag-tag type of install that could be causing this.

Any ideas?

Car runs normal, as if nothing happened. No rough idle or major loss in fuel economy. i reset the light and it comes back within a day or two.
