Rear upper shock mounts-wagon 850 1995

Need to replace the upper shock mounts, they have worn away all rubber and are banging into the fifth seat housing. My question is; If I don't want to install new shocks, just the mounts, do I need to do a full suspension drop and remove the existing shocks, or can I simply jack up the rear trailing arm and replace the mounts from above (from within the cargo area)?
