Hi folks!
Long time member, but it's been a bit since I've had a Volvo.
Stumbled across the ad below on Craigslist. It seems legit, but I have a couple of concerns.
1): Can a strut really trigger the service light on this car?
2): Since the poster is stating that the car's SES light is on, I'm assuming that the car needs, at the minimum, an O2 sensor. Anything else I should look out for?
3): Does this seem like a decent buy?
Thanks,
Steve

1998 Volvo s70 for sale. $600 OBO
Black - 183,000k miles. I got this car as a gift when it was less than a year old and have always taken care of it (oil changes, replacing tires, basic care, etc). The "service" light came over a month ago and my mechanic says the front right tire strut mount needs to be replaced and I just opted to get a new car. To be honest, I really just want to get it out of my garage.
$600 as is. ****UPDATE**** I pulled it out of my garage to take these pics (first time it's been moved in over a month) and the check engine light is on. I drove it around my neighborhood and it seemd/sounded fine but that light is on. It most definetly was not the last time I drove it. For everyone asking, I drove it for a couple weeks after the service light went on signaling the strut issue. Also, for everyone asking, that is the only thing I'm aware of being wrong. My mechanic was fully aware that I was in the process of buying a new car when the service light went on so we did not discuss anything other than the struts (and that's all he told me was wrong) because I was going to get rid of it. It's a $600 car after all. I just want to get rid of it
