MY CAR IS A LEMON S40-V40 2001

Please help!! Please advise.

I bought a 2001 Volvo S40 on July 31st/2001. It's a lemon. The shift lock has broken twice (1. solenoid 2. brake light switch - no signal), 3. the door bezels buzz and rattle with the vibration of the road and/or radio (still not fixed after foam buffer inserted and they can't do anything about b/c the noise is "normal"), 4. the kick panel was loose (now tightened) and 5. the cruise control is broken due to a faulty pump which also caused the car to 6. surge which is DANGEROUS. 6x = beyond unacceptable. It is now 12/12/01 and it has under 5600 miles. This is unacceptable. Volvo said they'll keep fixing it and of course they can for the next 10 yrs. Volvo HQ said the same thing and had the NERVE to tell me that the cars are shipped on a ship from Europe and there was probably a "storm during transit which interfered with the electronics." They were extremely rude to me on the phone and said they would be mad too BUT be glad I have a warranty to make full use of. They said lemon law does not apply to me because it has to be the same thing 4x. Well I told them I only die once and cruise control has been completely worried because it will drop from 70 to 65 to 60 and surge back to 65 and then drop to 55 and then surge back to 60. That is dangerous and unnerving. Volvo HQ also told me they won't do anything but fix it. They said I can't expect a car to be perfect because it's like going "into brain surgery and there's no guarantees." I told them they can't compare machinery to a human and that is why I am protected by laws. Then the woman I spoke to (Ruth) said that she's been married 20 yrs and has 5 sons and between them all they have had 60 cars and they don't expect perfection. I told her the ship story, her life story and brain surgery has nothing to do with me. HELP!! Looking at the stats on my car being that it's 4 1/2 months old, under 6k miles and has been in the shop (no, not ship) 5x and now the 6th time counting this week is UNACCEPTABLE. I have no idea what to do or how to proceed. I am willing to park my car in front of Volvo on Saturday's from 10-4pm with plastic lemons on my car if it's going to have to come to that. Plus, I work at the 5th largest company IN THE WORLD and I will display my car with lemons on it at work because I am extremely dissatisfied. Also, the dealer I bought it at said "that's the beauty of a lease, you can return if you don't like it." The dealer service manager also said "it's like a baker doesn't always make a perfect loaf." I'm just amazed at their analogies and how unhelpful they are. I am shocked that I am being treated like this by Volvo. I believe I have a case and I have no idea how to handle this because Volvo HQ and the dealer seem VERY unhelpful and they just say "we'll keep on fixing it." Next time they say that I'll ask them if that's going to be their new slogan!

So basically I have no clue what to do and if anyone else is having my problems?
